Where to install security cameras in a company?

Has your company suffered situations that compromise its security? Has the private surveillance service been insufficient to prevent theft? In this note we tell you which the places where you should install security cameras are.

Benefits of installing a security camera system

Video surveillance systems have evolved dramatically in the last decade, and the manufacturers of this equipment do not rest to provide higher standards of protection to business facilities.

We have already gone from traditional analog cameras, their coaxial cables and DVR devices, to digital cameras , which work through an IP connection, dispense with wiring and send their images to an NVR, which can be virtual, and even to the smartphone of its owner.

For all this, the placement of security cameras in the facilities of a company can bring many advantages. These are some of them:

  • Surveillance of the different perimeters of the company 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Constant sending of captured images to a server, which in turn sends them to a central monitoring station for analysis.
  • Link with an alarm system , for the notification of warning signs.
  • Incorporation of video analytics , which makes it possible to detect strange situations in the guarded perimeter, such as, for example, an unusual crowd of people.
  • Automatic zoom and facial recognition , so they can detect the faces of people other than those who usually walk through its perimeter.
  • Operation even in the absence of electrical power , since IP cameras usually incorporate lithium batteries that, in many cases, allow them to continue recording images for up to 72 hours.
  • Integration with mobile applications to monitor captured images, which allows the main user of the camera to see what it is recording in real time.

Situations where cameras are useful

Video surveillance cameras are a passive security systems in Chicago, that is, they do not have the ability to prevent by themselves a risky situation, such as theft or fire. However, they can work as excellent deterrents.

Thus, these devices become very useful elements when preventing an event. As an example, a thief will think more than once before committing a crime, if he notices that the place he intends to enter has security cameras.

Likewise, if a major accident occurs in the monitored space, the monitoring center will be informed in real time , managing the emergency as quickly as possible.

In the specific case of companies, cameras can help in cases like these:

  • Detection of theft by employees , who can steal company assets. At the same time, the captured images will serve to identify them.
  • Supervision of the fulfillment of work functions , since through video it can be determined if an employee leaves their job.
  • Determination of responsibilities before an event occurred in the company.
  • Monitoring of structural failures , accidents or any mishap that is related to the company's infrastructure.

Location of security cameras in the company

When a company adopts the measure of incorporating a security camera system in its facilities, it is important to take into account the location that these will have. To start with, you need to follow these recommendations:

  • The company's infrastructure must be analyzed to locate strategic points, blind spots and other factors that can affect the operation of a camera.
  • Said analysis must be carried out by certified technicians in electronic security, who are able to select the most suitable points.
  • It is suggested that the technicians have the endorsement of a company that provides electronic security solutions.
  • At no time should the installation of the cameras be assumed on your own , since they require certain care at the time of their placement, as well as the appropriate configuration.
  • On the other hand, regarding the location of the cameras in the building, it is necessary to know the following:
  • Security cameras can be installed in any space, according to its model and characteristics, since not all of them fulfill the same function.
  • The bullet-type models are ideal for placement in open spaces, such as parking lots, access squares to large buildings, back alleys, among others.
  • Those of the dome type are specially designed to be installed in closed or covered spaces, such as offices, stairs, corridors, lounges, receptions, etc.
  • For its part, the cube types are quite discreet. They can work very efficiently in confined spaces such as desks, small offices, or point of sale.

In conclusion, the fact of security camera installation in Chicago is very important for any company, but certain steps must be followed to detect the best possible place, and thus guarantee its efficiency.

How to choose a video surveillance system for the protection of a warehouse?

If you are considering installing a CCTV system in your warehouse, it is very important that you research the various options available in the market in order to choose the right type of CCTV for your business.

1. What is the purpose of installing security cameras in your warehouse?

The need or purpose of installing these surveillance cameras in your warehouse should be the first thing to think about. This can go a long way in helping you choose the right features that you want the CCTV cameras in your warehouse to have. There are many things you need to consider, such as focal length, image resolution, and storage requirements.

2. The recording options.

You should also consider what security camera recording options you want for securing your warehouse. There are three options for data storage: on a computer, on a digital video recorder, or in the cloud. Usually, the recording option you would need is determined by the number of cameras installed in the warehouse.

3. Real-time monitoring.

How you are going to monitor your footage in real time is another thing that you should also decide before purchasing your CCTV system. You can have your own monitoring room or simply rely on a monitoring service or monitor yourself remotely. Some cameras also have the option to send signals or emails / messages when they detect suspicious activity in the surveillance area.

4. The type of camera you want.

Nowadays, there are several types of security cameras available. A wired security camera is one of the standard types of security cameras. Most of them can be used both outdoors and indoors as they are equipped with an infrared filter that allows quality vision in dark places. Another type of cameras are network or IP security cameras that connect to a router and a computer.

 5. Mobile or fixed CCTV cameras?

When it comes to installation, there are two types of security cameras: PTZ cameras and fixed cameras. Some cameras once installed cannot be moved, while others can rotate up to 360 degrees when in use. One of the advantages of mobile cameras and especially of the “PTZ” category is that they have the possibility of working with motion detectors.

6. The cost of this surveillance.

More often than not, the cost of something determines its quality and style. However, not all high-priced CCTV cameras are suitable for your needs. While your budget will determine what type of cameras to choose, it is a good idea to buy a few high-quality ones that will give you the best possible surveillance.

7. The options available.

Before purchasing the right type of security camera, it is important to compare all of the available options. This will give you a chance to choose the best of them. In this case, choose the one that offers you the maximum value in terms of quality and practicality.

Protect your business from fake news.

In the age of smartphones, an altercation or interaction filmed on camera only takes a few minutes to go viral. Cell phone footage uploaded by people attending or watching these events only shows part of the story. Without objective imagery, these stories quickly dissolve into battles of rhetoric - an endless series of competing versions of the same story. Security cameras provide an objective picture of incidents that have occurred on your premises, protecting you, your employees and your company's reputation from competing and contested narratives.

Not all videos are reliable.

Everyone has a point of view. The sad truth is that the people who film and post incidents that happen on your property have a specific story to tell. Sometimes these videos are even edited to represent a specific point of view, even if it isn't exactly the real one.

Security camera footage from across your business can provide a variety of situational angles and present the whole story to the public, instead of individual footage or views captured on cell phones. Having multiple cameras in your most public areas helps you protect your business' best interests in the event of an incident, and allows you to present the whole truth quickly and easily before the story gets out of hand.

Reduce the risk of harassment.

Security cameras allow you to capture the entire incident. By helping you deliver a complete, unbiased, and unmodified version of the release, your cameras allow you to protect your customers from harassment and provide a clear view of your organization's reaction to these incidents. By presenting the story in its most accurate form and relaying footage of incidents to the police as needed, surveillance cameras allow you to show clients that their interests are protected when they choose to do business with you.

Make sure the only story is the true one.

First impressions are often good. Instead of fighting against established opinions, high-quality video footage allows you to present the truth of an incident clearly to the audience. Your business is built on the trust established with your customers and partners, equipping your business with security cameras allows you to protect this reputation in the event of a large-scale incident. Don't let someone else's version of events control the future of your business.

In today's business world, competing stories about your business can be just as damaging as creating a bad product.

Check your windows and sliding doors

If you've ever spoken to a home security expert, you'll know that windows and sliding doors are one of the weakest links.

Most old sliding windows and glass doors can very easily be removed from their tracks and are not locked with locks. This allows intruders to creep freely into your home without being noticed.

What you can do is take a curtain rod and slide it into the window or door tracks, which will make forcing that window more difficult.

Install blinds and curtains

This home safety tip can often be overlooked. Use tight blinds, curtains and other window treatments. This will keep potentially valuable items out of sight.

 Fortify your front door

Many houses have low entry doors made of light wood. They can very easily be broken. What you need to do, therefore, is to reinforce the material of the door. Invest in a solid wood or solid steel door, then inspect your door locks.

Use sturdy locks and attach them firmly to the door frame.

Light up your home

Here is an essential rule to remember when it comes to protecting your home from burglars: the more light your home is, the less tempting it will be to break into it without your knowledge.

It's good to consider brightening up the front of your home, especially the area right outside your door or near the porch. Motion sensing lights are perfect for your home. They will protect your entrances and doors and automatically turn on when they detect someone's movement.

Some instructions to secure your home before leaving.

We've put together a few simple guidelines so you can make sure your home is secure this weekend and whenever you're away:

Call on an acquaintance

Have a family member, neighbor, or close friend monitor your home for suspicious activity. If you need to be away for more than a few days, discuss lawn care with the maintenance company or your caretaker. A lawn that looks neglected is a sign of vacancy. Put your mail on hold or have a neighbor collect your mail and all packages for you. Accumulated mail and packages left unattended are a sign that a house is empty.

Unplug your devices

Unplugging electronic devices not only saves you money, but also protects your home from fires or power surges. Unplug your television, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, and any unused extension cords or power strips for lamps.

Think about video surveillance

Now is the time to install a home security camera systems in Chicago, home automation system, or upgrade your existing security system to include home automation devices. You will see the benefit of having an interactive surveillance system when you are on vacation, as it offers unprecedented levels of utility and peace of mind.

You can use your smartphone or tablet to monitor and control your home remotely while you are away, for example:

Make sure doors and windows are securely locked throughout the house.

Set heating and cooling to a comfortable temperature, which saves money.

Create the illusion that you are at home. By programming your lights on an automatic switch-on schedule, your home appears inhabited.

Keep an eye on visitors with automatic video surveillance alerts. You will know when your caretaker or anyone else arrives at your home.

WHAT STEPS TO TAKE TO INSTALL A BUCKET?

The installation of a bucket intended for the evacuation of waste and rubble requires a deposit and operating authorization

How to apply?

Before renting a skip, it is essential to make sure you have a skip deposit authorization, if:

·         The bucket is stored on the road

·         The bucket, placed on private land, protrudes on the road

In both cases, authorization is required. Generally, it must be requested from the municipality concerned. This approach can be undertaken by any user whatsoever: an individual, a project manager, a construction company, etc.

The authorization is issued on a precarious and revocable basis, in the form of roadway decree, authorization to deposit a dumpster in order to carry out waste evacuation works for a determined period, with possibly an authorization to interrupt or traffic management if necessary.

Good to know: The time taken to process the request is generally between 2 weeks and 1 month, depending on the municipality. It cannot exceed 2 months. In the absence of a response within this maximum period, the permit is considered to be refused.

What is the protocol?

The procedure to follow to obtain an authorization to deposit and operate a bucket is as follows:

·         Make the request to the town hall within 8 days (minimum) before storing the bucket

·         Fill in the information requested in the form; namely: the name of the person making the request, their contact details

·         Indicate the address of the site or site where waste and rubble must be removed using a skip, as well as the address of the installation

·         Provide a sketch showing precisely the location of the bucket

·         Indicate the dates of occupation of the road network

Following the authorization request, the town hall issues a supporting document. As for the authorization, it is issued either by the town hall or the police headquarters.

Please note: If you have to leave your dump body longer than expected on the roads, you are required to request an extension.

What cost?

Any deposit of skip on the public road is subjected to the payment of a right of occupation for an incomprehensible period of 7 days. This cost is variable. It depends on the municipality and its applicable rates. Without forgetting that an occupation on a place envisaged for the paying parking involves an additional compensation cost which can be requested by the commune and consequently to be taken into account.

What are the safety instructions to follow?

Whatever the type of rubble dumpsters, safety rules and regulations must be observed according to very specific regulations. You should be aware that handling this type of construction machine on public roads involves risks for both residents and the environment. Here are some regulatory tips:

If the bucket is placed near the road, respect for traffic comes first.

Signs must be placed around the skip to secure the area and prevent dangerous parking.

To avoid damaging the road, it is advisable to place the bucket on planks.

How can your CCTV system make you money?

At first glance, many believe that a video surveillance system is only a big investment. Whether in time, money or hassle, installing such a system can be costly since each parameter must be carefully studied. The position of the cameras must be perfect, in correspondence with a suitable housing, etc. Approaching video surveillance from this angle is discouraging for some, who unfortunately pay for it during a burglary and regret their choice. The more favorable but above all more realistic angle necessary to adopt video surveillance is however that of the savings of all types that your video surveillance system will make you make. Here are some examples of earning money through a video surveillance system:

Savings on the price of insurance

Your home is unprotected, insurance companies see it as a great risk of having to provide for your needs in the event of burglary or theft. These must be irreproachable in the event of a disaster of this type, your contribution will be much more expensive without a video surveillance system, than if you have a system that will greatly reduce the risk that your house will be visited, and therefore that insurance has to pay to compensate you.

 Protection against scams

CCTV is not just a bulwark against burglars. It is also a system that allows you to multiply the evidence of what you have, what you do and who is at home. There are many scams among individuals or in stores, whether through quarrels between neighbors or with customers. A video surveillance system allows you to avoid unnecessary defense costs that undermine your daily life too often.

Proof of damage to your home

When you are a homeowner, you often find yourself facing structural problems with the house, which often appear over time. Whether it is creaking on the walls due to the clay plate located under your house, or creaking due to work done opposite, a video surveillance system allows you to play your images before and after, to rebuild or renovate the damage found free of charge.

When to install a video surveillance system?

Installing a video surveillance security camera in Chicago is an operation that must be carefully considered, planned and studied. Your supplier must have been the subject of research, in particular on its after-sales service. The type of system and the location of the cameras should also be the result of testing and research. Once all these steps have been taken, decided to finally invest in the video surveillance system that is right for your home, you still have to determine the period during which you wish to install a video surveillance system. When to set up the cameras and start studying the images? Not all periods are suitable for installing a video surveillance system. Even if it’s better to install one at a low recommended time than not at all,

 Do not install during winter

Winter is a tough time for video surveillance. The cold, frost and humidity damage your cameras, which suffer and can be damaged from the start. In addition, winter is a season during which we naturally go out less. Newly installed cameras will therefore be mechanically less inspected.
Do not install under too mild weather

Installing cameras during a week of good weather is not ideal. In fact, the light will be particularly good during this period. You will therefore install your cameras according to this light, which is not very representative of the light that your cameras will have to face during the rest of the year. So you can unwittingly install cameras in places where the light present on darker days is not suitable for your cameras.

Do not install before a long absence

It can be tempting to decide to install your video surveillance system just before a vacation period so as not to be disturbed by the work. However, a video surveillance system installed before an absence will not be monitored. Thinking that it is in working order and enjoying your vacation, you may be surprised by a burglary facilitated by a flaw in your system that you have not detected.

What is a good video surveillance system?

There are multiple types of CCTV systems all different from each other. Whether designed for a main home, a second home, a hospital or even a park, video surveillance systems have characteristics specific to their uses. These systems, made for a certain use, must remain confined to their role to remain effective. An excellent video surveillance system for open spaces will be poor if it comes to monitoring a home for example. Purchasers of a new video surveillance system thus sometimes make the mistake of favoring quality, rather than adapting the system to the situation in question. Here are some objective criteria to determine whether a video surveillance system is good or bad.

 The quality of the cameras

Cameras are undoubtedly the main components of your video surveillance system. Whether wide-angle or reduced field, a minimum quality is required for your images to be processed. Especially the reduced field cameras must be able to identify numbers or letters without difficulty.

A quality recorder

Cameras would be useless without a recording box allowing them to save their images. This therefore has all its importance, and must also obey a minimum quality standard. The higher its storage memory, the more expensive it will be. This aspect is to be preferred but also pay attention to its external appearance which determines its robustness. Central part of your video surveillance system, it must be faultless because if it stops working, your entire video surveillance system is shut down.

 Good after-sales service

An aspect often overlooked by new buyers is that of after-sales service. Indeed, the quality of a video surveillance system is not only based on its condition at the time of purchase. Very good quality video surveillance systems require significant maintenance. A good after-sales service guarantee is therefore very important, and strongly determines the satisfaction that you will get from your system.

Diagnose your video surveillance system

CCTV systems are relatively expensive investments and require thinking about the many possibilities offered by distributors and technological progress. These investments can, if made with the help of a professional and in accordance with the needs of your house and your property, last for years and amortize your initial expenditure for a long period. A video surveillance system can, however, when it is badly installed or faulty, become a money well and problems. Regularly, you must check the operating status of your video surveillance system, to make sure that it still fulfills the role that you allocated to it. Here are some checks that will help you in your diagnosis.

Check the external appearance of your system

The optics of your cameras suffer because it is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the vagaries of time. Dust projected by the wind can indeed cloud the lenses, making your images unusable. Protective cases can also split and therefore, over time, no longer fulfill their role of protecting your cameras. An inspection of the general condition of your cameras is therefore the first step in diagnosing your system.

Check the status of your recorder

Your recorder is the centerpiece of your video surveillance system. Without it, no image recorded by your cameras would be recorded or therefore used later. So first check its condition, before checking the registration.

Do a burglary surveillance simulation

The best way to make sure your video surveillance system is working is to test it. Identify the sensitive points in your house that you would like to be sure to protect with your video surveillance system. Then pass in front of the field of each camera under several different lights before viewing the images. You will see if your cameras have moved and if their images record without problem.

Google Maps is updated with new functions for companies

Google thinks of two functions designed to help companies in difficulty because of Covid-19.

Google has been working to help companies affected by Covid-19 in recent months . The initiatives have been many and still features of this type continue to come out. In the past few days, many Reddit users have noticed square icons that signal the presence of nearby businesses. This news is not official for the moment and is available only for a handful of people.

Instead, there are two important functions that will soon arrive. They offer the possibility of activating a solidarity network between companies and customers. How? Activating a gift card or making a donation. Google is exclusively committed to making the features available but is not directly responsible for their management. It all starts by looking for a company profile online and opening its tab from Maps or other Google applications, such as Search. Here it will be possible to open a link to donate a sum for its restart or purchase a gift card to spend later in the shop, restaurant or other type of business.

Google: 2 functions for companies arriving

As announced by the Mountain View company, Many users will soon find new features on Maps and on the Search app. The service is aimed at gyms, restaurants, shops and all local businesses. These can activate two types of function: the first allows you to purchase a gift card, the second to make a donation to the company.

The ways to manage these two initiatives are decided by the companies and Google has no responsibility for transactions between the company and the customer. In a nutshell, Google simply deals with offering the service and giving it some visibility , but the way in which the customer can buy the gift card or make a donation is the responsibility of the company.

This novelty was released in some countries of the world a few weeks ago, but is preparing to be extended to 17 other countries too. So, soon looking for a shop on Search or Maps will get results, even those of companies that are asking for support.

Jen Fitzpatrick, vice president of Google Maps, expressed his satisfaction with the operation: “People around the world are trying to help. Global online research on 'how to help small businesses' reached the highest level ever recorded in March 2020, with + 700% since February. "

What are the two icons everyone is talking about?

In addition to the two functions, Google has also released promotional icons , which have appeared on Maps to different Reddit users sparking a general interest. They are square and appear on the screen where the map is displayed as if to remind that, in the vicinity, there is precisely an activity to visit.
The two elements are small and not very invasive but cannot be eliminated and are intended to intercept the attention of those who navigate on Maps . It is not known when they will be released, also because Google has not made the news official.

Why is it necessary to install a video surveillance system in a bar?

Help your staff feel safe

Your staff deserves to feel safe where they work. Video surveillance can help make them feel safe from the insecurity that sometimes reigns in the night world. In bars, staff often works late and in rather poor lighting. The cameras can therefore help them to feel safe. It is recommended to install a few cameras outside your building. They can monitor the smoking areas and around your bar. These cameras will also have a positive effect by securing the area around the bar when your employees are finished and when they take over service.

Check who leaves your bar and who enters it

Cameras can capture the faces of those who leave the bar in a hurry. They will be able to anticipate fights, inside or outside your establishment, which will make its atmosphere more conducive to your commercial activities.

Protect your staff and customers

A video surveillance system will deter criminals from carrying out illegal actions.

If they fear being identified and if they know they can be monitored, they are less likely to choose your restaurant as a target.

Putting up posters in your bar to remind customers that they are being watched may be a good strategy. But you still need to make sure that your video surveillance complies with the rules that govern their privacy.

Keep an eye on your activities

As a business owner, you need to be there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to keep everything going. This is obviously impossible, but this fine knowledge of your bar can be achieved thanks to an effective video surveillance system.

With a monitoring system, you will be able to check the records of the hours you were not there, even from your home, using remote monitoring software.

Why install a video surveillance system in a commercial space?

Video surveillance not only prevents crimes, it can also be used to recognize and prosecute the perpetrator of the crime. CCTV images are admissible as evidence in court and constitute an element which has become almost compulsory for the prosecution of the perpetrators of a burglary or robbery. It is this kind of evidence that plays a crucial role in the identification of criminals. Unfortunately, burglary isn't the only threat your business faces. If you run a larger business, you must take the threat of assault against your staff seriously. Therefore, CCTV cameras are not only useful in preventing robberies,

It is essential that your employees feel safe in the workplace. Otherwise, it can lead to an increase in the number of days off and a high employee turnover rate. Several studies have shown that insecurity at work leads to a significant drop in the productivity of a company. The safety of your employees therefore not only benefits them, but also the health of your company as a whole.

Where to place your CCTV cameras?

·        Close to hidden windows, so that no entry point is invisible to your security.
·        In front of all of your doors (fire, main, secondary, service, emergency exit, etc.)
·        In the parking lot, to watch for unusual cars running in or near your establishment.
·        On the stairs, even emergency, because everyone who has entered your establishment will have to go up the stairs to get around.

Restaurant video surveillance

Restaurants are supposedly friendly and peaceful places, where insecurity is never welcome. These amenity areas are however suffering the full brunt of the increase in the number of robberies, just like all other businesses or all other businesses. To protect your activities but also your customers, it is your duty to ensure security by installing a video surveillance system.

Strong deterrent effect

CCTV systems have a strong deterrent effect when installed in restaurants. Indeed, it is more difficult to approach a masked face than a restaurant or a traditional home, because it is open later and almost every day of the year. Robbers must therefore often act during the day, when the restaurant is busy, which requires posing as a customer for example. The ability to recognize a face therefore has a strong deterrent effect.

The client is not always right

Restaurant customers may be used to trying a scam. Because of the fear of scandal, restaurateurs often bow to customer demands. A video surveillance system can help you avoid these kinds of problems.

Where to place your cameras?

·        In large rooms such as catering rooms and private rooms.
·        In your kitchen and related spaces, to optimize its operation and avoid accidents.
·        At each entry and each exit, so that you can always know who is in your establishment?
·        Near your office, the space devoted to accounting or the management of your activities.
·        In the rooms that you devote to building up your stocks, whether of equipment or food.

A video surveillance system in your hotel

Hotels are establishments that store a large number of valuables transported by customers. They are also easily accessible spaces, where customers enter and exit freely, sometimes alongside individuals who go there to commit acts of vandalism or burglary. Hotels can no longer do without video surveillance cameras.

Which hotels need video surveillance?

If your hotel has common problems with theft or illegal activity, you must install a video surveillance system as soon as possible. This is especially true for hotels located in insecure places or in dangerous areas. The hotels located in these areas generally benefit from very effective security systems in Chicago to offset the additional risk they run.

What to do if the hotel is located in a quiet area, a priori without risk?

Even if you see little suspicious activity in your hotel, you still need a security system. It is this system that will protect your hotel if something illegal happens. CCTV cameras monitor and record videos from various locations around your building. If something should happen, the police will have access to the tapes.

This can help rid your hotel of fraud charges or provide valuable information in criminal investigations. The level of security should always depend on the type of guests staying at your hotel. For example, a business hotel may have higher security than a luxury hotel. This system must have a closed network that can offer complete discretion to guests with confidential information. Hotels that do not host many large business meetings may not need such a high level of security.

If you have recreational facilities, especially gymnasiums and swimming pools, you should consider using video surveillance cameras to meet the safety objectives of this type of spaces. Also, be careful not to install cameras in the locker room, but consider the usefulness of a properly functioning video surveillance system, with high quality images, in the event of an accident and the liability of your hotel. Regardless of the type of hotel you have and the clients you receive, you need a closed circuit surveillance system.

Even if your hotel is located in a supposedly safe area, your hotel will still be subject to the risk of damage to the common areas, or the risk of theft of furniture. Installing a video surveillance system must therefore be done regardless of the location of your hotel.

What a video surveillance system will bring you:

Monitor individuals entering your hotel

Some individuals who are not part of your customers will try to break into your hotel. Installing cameras near the main and secondary entrances will allow you to filter who frequents your hotel, and will essentially act as a deterrent.

Protect unauthorized areas

The hotels have many areas reserved for staff, where the movement of customers is not allowed. Installing a video surveillance system will allow you to prevent your customers from ending up in prohibited areas.

Monitor storage spaces
The hotels need rooms dedicated to the storage of sheets, furniture or various objects. These forgotten spaces should not be omitted by your surveillance, because they are often targeted places.

Guarantee the well-being of your customers

More and more customers choose their hotel according to its degree of security. A hotel with a reliable video surveillance system will therefore have an advantage over the others. A video surveillance system will therefore allow you to be more competitive, and to present an asset that will convince customers to come to you rather than to your neighbor.

Pay attention to the security / privacy balance

Video surveillance is becoming more and more important for hotels, but you must also take into account your customers' desire for confidentiality. People want to feel safe, but they don't want to feel like the cameras are obsessively recording them.

When you install a video surveillance system, you need to make sure you cover all the important places without making your customers uncomfortable.

Leave your cameras out of the rooms

Placing cameras in the rooms is illegal, so just install CCTV cameras in front of the doors.

Keep your cameras in useful places

Disperse your cameras in the useful spaces, without installing them in places whose usefulness is less obvious, which could lead to questions concerning the legitimacy of this surveillance, among your customers.

Protect your customer data

You must protect the spaces where your customers' business or accounting data is kept, to prevent burglary leading to their escape.

Install the highest quality system possible

Always choose the latest security system. This type of security offers much better image quality and will surpass outdated security systems.

Choose security over uncertainty

CCTV Security camera systems in Chicago protect you and your guests in your hotel. The presence of security cameras alone will reduce the risk of theft and other illegal activities. If an accident should happen to your hotel, the images from your surveillance can be used to prove your innocence against fraudulent claims and to protect your guests in the event of criminal investigations. Your guests will appreciate feeling safe during their stay at your home and your CCTV cameras will make your hotel the one people choose against the competition.

Sunglasses for summer sports: which one to choose?
Whenever we are at sea or by the sea, we need to protect our eyes effectively, as ultraviolet rays hit us directly and reflexively, becoming much more aggressive and potentially harmful .

So you need adequate glasses with lenses that block 100% of UVA and UVB, with sufficiently dark filters , with the possibility of inserting a mirror on the external surface of the lens and an anti-reflective treatment on the inside.

Better yet, opt for polarized lenses that eliminate the glare of water and sand and the unpleasant situations that arise when the sun is in front of you.

We of the Ciaroni team are seafarers and we know exactly what it takes to go to the water and to the beach without jeopardizing our visual apparatus .

As we have learned to put protection 50 on our epidermis, we must understand that it is not enough to squint to protect oneself from UV rays. We must use appropriate glasses that may vary depending on the sport practiced , but which are all designed for protection from harmful rays.

For some sports such as beach volleyball, beach tennis, cycling, canoeing, windsurfing and sailing , wrap-around goggles with elastic , rubbery materials are preferred , which in the event of a collision do not break and above all do not cause damage to who wears them.

Metal glasses which, in case of strong impact, can create wounds in the eye area (cheekbones, supraciliary arch, temple, etc.) should therefore be avoided .

What is sports sunglasses used for?

To ensure excellent performance in the sports field, every athlete knows that he must prepare himself better and must have the appropriate equipment , which, in addition to clothing, includes technical sunglasses for sports.

They are part of the equipment and the competitive strategy, first of all because they protect the eyes from dust particles or other debris that can rise during sports, are able to guarantee the necessary shielding from the UV rays of the sun and guarantee perfect vision in all conditions of use .
Thanks to new optical technologies, modern models of technical glasses for sports are able to guarantee a clearer and sharper vision and consequently ensure better performance for the athletes who wear them.

The practice of sporting activities requires constant attention, speed of reaction and agility. Only a clear and sharp vision can ensure maximum concentration and precision in all circumstances , also avoiding unpleasant injuries.

For some sportsmen who wear technical sports glasses, however, the problem may be the difference between front and side vision. Precisely for this reason more and more models of wraparound glasses are made, which allow an optimal vision also laterally .

These models are very comfortable and must be made to measure, because they must adapt to the shape of the face and be suitable for the sporting activity to be practiced . The frame must remain firm and stable to ensure ease and speed of movement in any situation.

To be sure to choose the right model, you need the advice of an optician or optometrist , who can give useful and precise information.

Technical sports glasses are not only the preserve of professional athletes. Everyone, even those who practice amateur or sporadic activity, should wear them. It is mistakenly believed that traditional glasses can also be worn , especially if you have visual defects to correct; in reality they are not suitable for prolonged outdoor sports , especially in summer.

Sports graduated sunglasses are designed to correct the wearer's visual defect , and are also equipped with greater UV protection than traditional ones.

There is no sporty sunglasses for everyone
When you intend to buy a pair of technical sports glasses, you must first contact the ophthalmologist and optician / optometrist . Based on the presence or absence of visual defects, and also on the basis of the sporting activity to be practiced, professionals will be able to direct towards the best choice.
It is important to clarify that there are no glasses that are suitable without distinction for all subjects or for all activities.   This is even more true as regards sports glasses, which must be chosen to measure, paying close attention to the various components:

Frame : must be solid, comfortable and perfectly adherent to the face . Aesthetics have their weight, but to ensure good wearability it is necessary to feel it light and enveloping, to better accompany all activities.

Lenses : must be unbreakable and light . The modern lenses are all in polycarbonate precisely to be lighter and to be worn in any context. Depending on the sport, more or less marked levels of protection are also recommended and the application of filters on the lenses can facilitate vision even in conditions of excessive or low light.

Nasal bridge and temples : they must be comfortable in every situation, even the most extreme. The bridge must be soft and comfortable, the length of the arms must be calibrated well on the person's face . They should have soft protections to cushion movements and prevent them from falling. In many sports it is advisable to choose wrap-around temples, to best surround the whole ear and improve the stability of the frame. If the sport to be practiced is cycling or skating, better than the straightest temples , which can also be worn under a helmet.

Ventilation : be equipped with a good ventilation system that allows the air to pass and avoids the formation of sweat or condensation as much as possible, factors that could adversely affect vision and therefore sports performance.

The right technical glasses for every sport

Water sports

For those who practice water sports, the best choice is certainly a good pair of goggles, able to defend the eyes from the chlorine of the pool, from the salt water of the sea and from bacteria.
They must be comfortable and well-fitting, with silicone closures to prevent the entry of water and adjustable elastic bands. Even those with visual defects can wear goggles, models with graduated lenses are also available to guarantee excellent vision for everyone.

Sports with ball or ball

Having to practice an outdoor activity that involves the use of a ball or a ball can be dangerous if you do not wear the right technical sports glasses .

Especially on the sunniest days, the reverberation and the intensity of the sunlight can be an impediment to the performance and even be harmful.
Polarized glasses provide a better perception of colors and depth of field , also avoiding accidents due to suboptimal vision.

How to calibrate the battery of an Android phone

How to calibrate the battery of an Android phone. Calibrate Android battery: all the steps to be performed. One of the elements that makes phone users headaches is, without a doubt, the battery. Aware of the importance of having a good autonomy, manufacturers are increasing the capacity of the batteries, introducing solutions to optimize energy consumption .

For our part, we have already explained to you on other occasions how to keep track of charge cycles , how to charge it to extend its useful life and even how to save energy by configuring apps in standby. The Android operating system has a file called Battery Stats, which indicates the capacity of the battery when it is full or empty. The problem is that this file sometimes gets corrupted and starts showing non-real data, which causes the cell to freeze before it reaches 0% or that, once loaded to 100%, it quickly runs out.

The battery calibration process involves correcting the values of this file and does not repair anything physical or chemical in the battery, that is, it is a software correction, not a hardware correction. Today we will explain a process that should be repeated every two or three months: how to calibrate the battery of an Android phone.

Because we need to periodically calibrate the battery of an Android phone

The charge percentage of a mobile phone is calculated based on a series of algorithms executed by the system and based on the battery capacity, the time it was charged and the maximum charge point, which is reached after a time. If any of these are wrong, we can find a deviation in the calculations and, therefore, we have before us a badly calibrated battery that shows us the wrong percentage.

Therefore, keeping the battery calibrated is useful twice: on the one hand, it is good for us because we will be able to see a reliable percentage of charge and our mobile phone will not turn off suddenly and, on the other hand, it is healthy for the battery itself, because it will help us maintain an optimal charge level (between 40 and 80%).

In the app stores you can find several apps that promise a battery calibration, but our recommendation is to perform the calibration process yourself. As we will see, it is a very simple process that is recommended to be repeated every two or three months.

When to recalibrate a battery?

When you notice that the battery never reaches 100%, but freezes at 90 or 95%, or when the smartphone turns off suddenly, for no reason or when the battery drains very quickly.

How to calibrate the battery of an Android phone

However, if the battery life of the smartphone has started to shorten for no apparent reason, it may be time to calibrate it. Here's  how to calibrate the battery of any Android phone .

Unlike Apple, which provides a specific calibration procedure for the iPhone battery, the rest of the Android manufacturers do not generally specify standards for calibrating the battery of their phones. Below we offer a general method that you can perform on any device  regardless of its brand:

Fully charge the phone battery : connect it to the charger and wait until the battery indicator charges 100%, but do not disconnect it immediately when it reaches 100%, leave it a little longer.
Fully discharge the battery : after fully charging it, using the phone normally or intensely, fully discharge the battery until the phone turns itself off. Demanding applications, games or multimedia content will help you consume energy faster.

Leave the mobile phone to rest for at least 4 hours : the battery may have a residual excess charge that causes it to fail to calibrate, so that during these hours of rest, the residual energy is released from the battery itself.

Recharge your mobile phone : once it has been fully discharged and you have waited at least 4 hours, recharge your mobile phone until it reaches 100% charge and wait a little longer to make sure it is fully charged before disconnecting it.

Turn the phone back on  and use it again normally: if you have completed the process, it should already be properly calibrated so that you can use it without problems for two or three months.
How to calibrate the battery of an Android phone with an app

Download the AccuBattery app  from the Play Store . This app will show the battery charge in milliamps (mA) in the notification bar. You should charge your smartphone until the app shows 100%. When you reach 100%, turn off and restart the device. Through this procedure you have  calibrated the battery of your Android smartphone .

GO Battery Pro - Battery Saver monitors applications and decides which ones most affect battery power. By clicking the "Optimize" button, any unnecessary applications that currently consume resources are deleted.

Avast Battery Saver  increases battery life by stopping all applications that are not used, optimizing device settings. It also has 4 predefined profiles: Home, Work, Night and Emergency, which simplify everything.
